1930s Semi 4 Bed
This house had a side extension which had been started 20 years before, but never completed. The original part of the house had not been touched for 30 years. The old stairs were removed and the kitchen was redesigned. Some reconfigurations between the old part and the extension was needed. A full re-wire and all pipework removed and replaced. There was a lot of repair work needed in the old part (plaster work and mending picture rails etc). A painstaking process at times, but so worth it.
The whole house was gutted and walls taken back to brickwork. The house was redesigned in keeping with its era but adding a contemporary modern touch. The garden – this was seriously neglected and needed lots of TLC. We turfed most of the lawn, created low maintenance borders, plus a patio area for entertaining to make the most of the south facing garden.
Highlights: The upstairs landing window feature. I sourced a striking light fitting for here to create the WOW factor. The before and after pics say it all! Bringing the original features back to life (Minton tiled floor in the front reception room).
